CHAPTER HISTORY

The Independence Hall Chapter was organized when a group of DAR members met to organize a new chapter in Philadelphia. On January 3rd, 1899 the request to organize was made by the national board. On December 13th, 1899, formal presentation of the Charter was made in the Supreme Court Room of Independence Hall, for which the Charter is named. The ceremonies were followed by a luncheon. The tradition continues today as we are privileged to hold our annual May meeting at Independence Hall.
